Seisen Jogakuin College (4-year) and Seisen Jogakuin College (2-year), located in Nagano City, was established over 50 years ago to teach a love of Christianity and to educate women.

Overview of Seisen Jogakuin College (4-year)

Seisen Jogakuin College provides numerous learning opportunities in specialized fields within the Faculty of Human Studies, and the Psychology Course, English Communication Course and Contemporary Communication Course. In addition to developing a community spirit, the Faculty of Human Studies strives to produce talented individuals through our mission of nurturing women who can help both themselves and others.



Overview of Seisen Jogakuin College (2-year)

Seisen Jogakuin College(2-year) has two departments: The Department of Early Childhood Education and the Department of International Communication. The Department of Early Childhood Education has acquired an excellent reputation for cultivating kindergarten and nursery school teachers based on its proven track record since its inception as a vocational school for childcare professionals.
With two courses concerning International Studies and Business, The Department of International Communication is well-known for its long history of developing graduates who can contribute to society since its beginnings as the Department of English and International Culture.


The education of Seisen Jogakuin College and Seisen Jogakuin College(2-year) has a well-established reputation in the local community and society through the efforts of our graduates in various fields.



A Short History of Seisen Jogakuin

The Catholic congregation of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus founded the Educational Foundation Seisen Jogakuin. The congregation has continued to spread the work of its founder, St.Rafaela Maria, throughout the world, including in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, and is dedicated to serving people in need and promoting women's education.


1981.Establishment of Seisen Jogakuin College(2-year) with 2 departments: Early Childhood Education and English.
First President: Sr. Fujimori Sato.
1992.Seisen Jogakuin College(2-year) added the Department of International Culture.
2003.Seisen Jogakuin College(2-year) The Department of International Culture was renamed Department of International Communication.
2003.Establishment of Seisen Jogakuin College (4-year) with the Faculty of Human Studies and Department of Culture and Psychology. First president: Dr Azuma Hiroshi.
2006.Establishment of a special graduate course (non-degree conferring) within Seisen Jogakuin College (4-year), Faculty of Human Studies.
